Chloe Alexandra Thompson & Brenna Murphy
Gaming engine, Max, Audio Reactive Visuals, Contact Microphones, Arduino Sensors
Chloe Alexandra Thompson and Brenna Murphy collaborated in 2022 with Montreal-based dance artist Hanako Hoshimi-Caines to create the 6th episode of »Jump Cut«, a six-part digital series conceived and created by Dana Gingras/Animals of Distinction and commissioned by CTM Festival as a response to the unpredictable and sudden end to international touring during the pandemic.
For this 12th edition of Sight+Sound, they have been invited to team up again to develop a brand new work blending noise, ambient and experimental genres.
Bio
Chloe Alexandra Thompson is a Cree interdisciplinary artist and sound designer. Thompson approaches sound as a mode of connection—embracing the kinesthetic agency of sound to compose abstract feats of spatialized audio recording and synthesis. Her work engages tactics of material minimalism to create site-specific installations that sculpt droning, maximalist experiences out of space and sound. Thompson is from Canada and presently resides in New York, USA.
Brenna Murphy works with sculpture, sound and software to braid frequencies and forms across nested virtual and material realms. She also works in the art collective MSHR, collaboratively building and exploring generative electronic systems through live improvisations and interactive installations. www.lattice.tools
